Gas Cooling

In chemical plants, RELAB nozzles are used for gas cooling and conditioning to improve processes in chemical processing and refineries.

Gas can either come from direct combustion, as in the case of flue gas, or by secondary heating. In many processes, gas temperature is raised that could easily damage downstream equipment, sludge build-up, and increased energy costs.

The main purpose of gas cooling is decreasing the temperature of the flue gas using a coolant water. Some of the most relevant parameters to consider are the coolant liquid droplets size and the correct spray distribution inside the cooling equipment.

Generally, the recommended products for cooling applications are the RELAB J series air atomizing nozzles. However, sometimes, full cone or hollow cone nozzles can be used too.
