Design Features
Characteristics:
GF series is a pressure atomizing nozzle, which contains a stainless steel strainer and a slotted vane. The oil is supplied in the form of pressure, usually from an appropriately designed motor driven pump, usually 100 psi on domestic burners, and forcing it through the vane. There is a swirl chamber between the hole and slot. The high velocity entering streams of oil set up a very high velocity rotation in the swirl chamber, and then it is ejected through the holes to form a very fine oil mist.
The function of oil burner nozzle is to meter the fuel in very precise amounts, and deliver these droplets in a series of specific spray angles and spray patterns and simultaneously "atomize" the oil into extremely tiny droplets so they can burn cleanly. As the oil breaks into these mist-like droplets, each drop becomes surrounded by air. It is this intimate bonding of air and oil that enables a burner to achieve clean combustion.
The nozzles produce a spray which is neither truly hollow nor solid. These nozzles frequently can be used in place of either solid or hollow cone nozzles between .40 GPH and 8.00 GPH, regardless of the burner's air pattern. The lower flow rates tend to be hollow. Higher flow rates tend to be more solid.
Spray angles are available from 30°~90° in most nozzle sizes to meet the requirements of a wide variety of burner air patterns and combustion chambers.
