The table demonstrates how the theoretical coverage from a spray nozzle of a specific included angle varies as a function of distance from the nozzle.
In practice, the value of coverage deviates from the actual value, particularly at large distances, as shown on the accompanying diagram.
The table illustrates the values obtained using common water. More viscous and denser liquids generally produce narrower spray angles than water under the same operating conditions.
Surface tension also plays a role in pattern width. Liquids with surface tensions less than water will produce a wider spray than will water.
